John N. âJackâ Yodock, Sr., age 81, 355 Tenny St., Bloomsburg, died at 6 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Grandview Health Homes, Danville, where he had been a guest since January 2.
Born in Bloomsburg on August 31, 1933, he was a son of the late Leo, Sr. and Rose (Dedesco) Yodock. He resided in Bloomsburg his entire life, and was a 1951 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.
Jack was employed by the former Magee Carpet Co., Bloomsburg for 17 years; the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., Bloomsburg for four years; Argo of Pennsylvania, Berwick for 12 years; and Kawneer Corp., Bloomsburg for seven years; retiring in 1992. After retirement, Jack worked part time for Columbia County for four years, retiring again in 1996.
He was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg, and a life member of the Bloomsburg Elks Lodge 436.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, the former Marian Krawizcki on April 7, 2004.
Surviving is a daughter, Karen A. Bucher, Hummelstown; a son, John N. Yodock, Jr., Harrisburg; five grandchildren: Rodney D. Bucher; Jenifer A. Sorrentino; Melanie R. Yodock; Lt. Nicholas Paul Yodock, currently serving with the US Army in Afghanistan; and Michael Yodock; three great grandchildren: Courtney H. Bucher; Zachary Sorrentino and Cpl. Patrick Sorrentino, US Marine Corps; and three siblings: William Yodock, Bloomsburg; Mary, wife of Alfred Vertucci, Amsterdam, N.Y. and Leo Yodock, Jr., wife Kathryn, Bloomsburg.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 20 at 10 AM in St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron Street, Bloomsburg, with Msgr. Robert E. Lawrence officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
