Jon  F. Hower, age 63, 324 East Center Street, Elysburg, died at 11:07 a. m. Sunday, October 22, 2017, shortly after being admitted to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.   He had health issues since being injured   in a motorcycle accident four years ago.

Born in Bloomsburg on November 6, 1953, he was a son of the late Raymond and Fay D. (Fielding) Hower. He was a 1972 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.

Jon resided in Elysburg for 22 years and previously lived in the Brookside Village Mobile Home Court near Berwick.

He served with the U. S. Air Force from 1972 to 1976, during the Vietnam War.

He was employed by Aramark Food Services at Bloomsburg University, last working in 2013. Earlier he was employed by Paper Magic, Elysburg.

Jon enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle. He participated in the "Rolling Thunder" motorcycle  parade in Washington, DC.  He was an avid 49ers football fan as well as the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded  in death by a daughter, Tiffany Lynn Hower; a sister, Donna Schoch; a sister in law, Ruth Albertson  and a brother in law, Robert Updegrove.

Surviving are his wife, the former Carolyn S. Kreischer, with whom he celebrated his 33rd wedding anniversary on June 30, 2017; two daughters: Bridget, wife of James D'Angelo, Berwick and Brittany Hower, at home; a son, Adam Hower, and his wife Stefanie, Danville; three grandchildren: Noel, Giovanni and Konnor; two sisters: Denise, wife of Rick Stewart, Orangeville and Deb, wife of Cosmo Leone, St. Louis Park, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 7:30 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with Bradley Breisch, pastor of Emanuel Reformed United Church of Christ, Mainville, officiating. Friends may call from 6:00 to 7:30 p. m. At Jon's request, please do not send flowers.
