Joseph Gross, Jr., age 94, of Klingerville Lane, Bloomsburg, passed away at his home on Friday June 14, 2024 after being in failing health.
Born in Danville on October 12, 1929, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Werkheiser) Gross. He was a 1947 graduate of Danville High School and spent most of his life in Hemlock Township, Columbia County.
Prior to his retirement in 1991, Joseph was employed by the PA Gas & Water Co. as a service manager. Earlier in his life, he was employed by the former Magee Carpet Co.
He was a member of the Buckhorn United Methodist Church and a life member of the Buckhorn Community Fire Co.
Joseph was an avid gardener and he enjoyed attending his grandsons’ sporting events.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara E. (Klinger) Gross, on January 31, 2012; sister, Pauline Fox; and brother, Jack Gross.
Surviving are his two children, Mildred Ann, wife of Michael Edwards, of Orlando, Florida, and Joseph Robert Gross, and his wife Elaine, of Bloomsburg; three grandchildren: Michael Joseph Edwards, of Colorado, Joshua Joseph Gross, and his wife Cassidy, of Zion Grove, and Jeremy John Gross, and his wife Jessica, of Bloomsburg; five great-grandchildren; brother, Henry Gross, and his wife Terri, of Bloomsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
At Joseph's request, there will be a private graveside service held at the convenience of the family in Straub’s Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
