Joseph J. Keszkowski, Jr., age 57, 202 N. Fourth Street, Catawissa, died unexpectedly at his home at 10:15 a. m. Friday, November 17, 2017. He had health problems since 2015.
Born in Bloomsburg on July 6, 1960, he was a son of Rose Marie (Shepenas) Keszkowski, with whom he resided and the late Joseph J. Keszkowski.
Joe was a 1978 graduate of Southern Area High School and also attended and graduated from the Apprentice School in Newport News, Virginia. He was employed by the Newport News Ship Building Corp. from 1980 until 2005 when he retired.
He was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg.
Joe was an avid sports fan, especially the Philadelphia “Phillies” and earlier in his life he played softball for several local leagues.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Rose (Mrock) Shepenas and his paternal grandparents, Stanley and Mary Ann Keszkowski.
Joe is survived by his mother, a sister Anita Marie, wife of Jay Steely, Catawissa; a niece, Sarah Steely, Charlottesville, Virginia; a nephew, Andrew Steely, Catawissa; and a niece Emma Steely, Catawissa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 a. m. in St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron Street, Bloomsburg by Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence. Interment will follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
Viewing from 9 - 10 a. m. Monday at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
