Joseph J. Pishl, age 57, 158 Jamison City Road, Benton, died at 4:24 p. m. Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was a patient for six days. He had been in failing health since 2010.

Born in Staten Island, New York on November 13, 1959, he was the son of Joseph J., Sr. and Lois (Scott) Pishl. He resided in Jamison City since December, 2013 and previously lived in Perkiomenville, Skippack, Bensalem and Levittown, all in Pennsylvania.

Joe was a 1977 graduate of Dixie Hollins High School, Pinellas Park, Fla.  and a 1987 graduate of St. Petersburg Junior College, St. Petersburg, Florida, where he studied architectural design. He used this training to work as an architectural designer for several firms during his career.

Joe was an adventurous person and at times funny, but always outgoing. He enjoyed genealogy and drawing.

Surviving are his companion, Tina Marie Houseweart, with whom he resided in Jamison City; a daughter, Cathy Blackmon, Decatur, Tenn.; a son, Ryan Pishl, Melbourne, Fla.;  three grandchildren: Olivia, Lucian and  Bryson; four siblings: Carol (Pishl) Robinson, Elizabethtown, Kentucky; David Scott, and his wife Mary, Port Ritchey, Fla.;  Dona Pishl, Hamilton, Ohio; Wendy Sue, wife of Timmy Barrett, Waynesburg, Kentucky; two half sisters: Terri, wife of Frank Stromquist, Homosassa, Fla. and Darla Schalk, Ocala, Fla.

At Joe's request, there will be no funeral services or viewing.

Memorials may be sent to the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home, P. O. Box 255, Benton, PA 17814 to help defray funeral expenses.
