Joyce (Laubach) Veneziale
Joyce (Laubach) Veneziale, age 79, Kenosha, Wis. and formerly Rochester, Minn. died at Hospice House, Kenosha on November 3, 2012.
Born in Philadelphia on Feb. 18, 1933, she was the daughter of Edward C. and Esther G. (Chapin) Laubach. Her parents were natives of New Columbus and Fairmount Springs. She resided in Rochester, Minn. from 1959 until moving to Kenosha in 2007.
Joyce received a B. S. degree in home economics from Hood College, Frederick, Md. in 1955. She was employed as a social worker at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, prior to her marriage. Later she was employed as a social worker at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church; a charter member of Seasons Hospice Board and an active volunteer at St. Maryâs Hospital, all in Rochester.
Joyce had a special talent for gourmet cooking and volunteered as an abandoned dog rescuer, especially Boxers.
Joyce was married to Carlo M. Veneziale, M.D. on January 15, 1959 and he preceded her in death on May 2, 1985.
She is survived by two daughters: Paula, wife of Ray Schendl, Kenosha and Carla Veneziale, Oak Park, Ill. and six grandchildren: Emily, Andrew, Madeline, Olivia, Claire and Sophie Schendl. She was the last of her immediate family, however she has a number of cousins living in this area.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at 2 p. m. in the Town Hill United Methodist Church, 417 Town Hill Road, Shickshinny, with the church pastor, Rev. Bethany P. Wood officiating. Interment in New Columbus Cemetery.
