Karen L. (Stackhouse) Ash

Karen L. (Stackhouse) Ash, age 77, of 236 W. Sixth St., Bloomsburg, passed away on Monday evening, December 6, 2021 at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital.

Born on March 9, 1944 in Bloomsburg, she was the daughter of the late Grant M. and Lois J. (Doty) Stackhouse. Karen resided in the Bloomsburg area for much of her life.

Karen was a member of Fowlersville United Methodist Church in Bloomsburg. She swam at the Berwick YMCA earlier in her life and currently participated with the YMCA Silver Sneakers Group. Karen enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, and gathering with friends. She was also a member of the Kappa Psi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi.

Surviving are her three children: Michael Patterson, of Lancaster, Angela, wife of Eric Elder, of Painted Post, NY, and Valerie, wife of Eric Shaver, of Carlisle; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois E. Reibsome, of Bloomsburg.

Private services will be held. Interment will be made in Elan Memorial Park.

Karen’s family would like to thank the Bloomsburg Geisinger staff for the care provided while she was in the hospital.
