Katherine P. "Kay" Reber
Katherine P. "Kay" Reber, age 93, formerly of 3 Tower View Circle, Danville, died at 8:14 a. m. Tuesday, August 29, 2017 in the Nazareth Memory Unit at Emmanuel Center For Nursing where was a guest for 3 1/2 years.
Born in Shamokin on August 16, 1924, she was a daughter of the late John and Nettie (Kotanchick) Pellish. She resided in Danville since 1983 and previously lived in Harrisburg and Camp Hill for a number of years.
Kay was a 1942 graduate of St. Edward's Catholic High School, Shamokin. She was employed by the former Bell Telephone Co. in Shamokin as an operator and supervisor and in Harrisburg she worked in the Engineering Department, retiring in 1981 after 38 years.
She was a member of Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, Shamokin and a life member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Kay was preceded in death by two brothers: John Pellish, Jr. and Joseph Pellish; and by a sister, Ann Pellish.
Surviving are three nieces: Katherine, wife of Paul Fargo, Souderton; Margaret, wife of Michael Lamphear, Royersford; Michelle, wife of Dewey Traynor, Dover, Delaware; and several great nieces.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a. m. in the chapel of the Emmanuel Center For Nursing, 600 Schoolhouse Road, Danville, with Rev. Ignatius Madumere officiating. Interment will follow in Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Shamokin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Road, Danville.
