Kenneth L. Wenner

Kenneth L. Wenner, Sr., age 67, 14 Dahl Road, Bloomsburg, died at 11:45 a. m. Saturday, February 20, 2010, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was a patient since Thursday. He was in failing health for several years.

Born in Stillwater on February 14, 1943, he was a son of the late Orvis and Minnie (Musselman) Wenner. He resided in Buckhorn for the last 31 years.

In his early life he was a truck driver and was last employed as a movie theater manager, retiring in 2000,after 23 years, due to failing health.

Ken was of the United Methodist faith and was a life member of the Buckhorn Fire Company. He is a former Boy Scout leader and Little League coach. He enjoyed hunting, visiting Canada and spending time with his grandchildren.

He served with the Berwick Unit of the Pennsylvania National Guard from 1960 to 1965.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Wenner.

Surviving are his wife, the former Linda M. Payne, with whom he celebrated his 47th wedding anniversary on September 15, 2009; five children: Kenneth L. Wenner, Jr., and his wife Tammy; Richard W. Wenner, and his wife Gloria; Lori A. Wenner, all of Buckhorn; Denise, wife of Michael VanDine, Bloomsburg; Keith A. Wenner, and his wife Crystal, Millville; nine grandchildren: Kenneth L. Wenner, III; Ashley Ortman, Jessica Uslin, Candice VanDine, Breanna Wenner, Olivia VanDine, Brandon Sponenberg, Josh Sponenberg, Nicole Sponenberg; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters: Lois, wife of Paul Somner, Old Town, Fla.; Jean, wife of Donald "Bino" Cammillocci, Berwick; a sister-in-law, Sally Wenner, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Allen F. Acor, pastor of the Hendrickson-Mooresburg United Methodist Churches officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 p. m.
