L. Arline LeVan

L. Arline LeVan, age 94, 65 Buckhorn Road, Bloomsburg, died at 12:15 a. m., Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Geisinger Columbia Montour Home Hospice at Maria Hall, Danville, where she was a guest for one day. She was seriously ill for three weeks.

Born in Bloomsburg on April 12, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Lois (Terwilliger) Fedder. She was a 1940 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and resided in Buckhorn for over 70  years.

Arline was employed by the former Bloomsburg Mills, Inc., for many years and was a secretary when she retired.

A longtime member of the Buckhorn United Methodist Church, she especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

  Arline was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, John L. LeVan, on April 5, 1983; by a daughter,. Patricia A. Sessions on May 11, 2015; by two brothers: Bruce Fedder and Robert Rupert; and a sister, Elsie Kershner.

She is survived by six children: Joseph B. LeVan, who resided with her; Lana, wife of John Hanaway, Danville; Pamela S., wife of Robert Farley, Mifflinville; Dennis W. LeVan, and his wife Maxine, Bloomsburg; Stephen  J. LeVan, and his companion, Vivian, Berwick; Larue E. LeVan, and his wife Mel, Hanover, Va.; 24 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; twin sisters: Reba Mericle and Leda Wintersteen, both of Bloomsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

A service in celebration of Arline’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, from 1-4 p. m. in the Buckhorn United Methodist Church, 94 Schoolhouse Road, Bloomsburg.

Memorials may be sent to the Geisinger Columbia Montour Home Hospice, 410 Glenn Ave., Bloomsburg or to the Buckhorn United Methodist Church, 94 Schoolhouse Road, Bloomsburg, Pa 17815.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
