Laura C. (Persechino) Abate

Laura C. (Persechino) Abate, age 74, of Iron Street, Bloomsburg died at her home on Friday, August 16, 2024.

She was born in Camden, New Jersey on December 15, 1949, a daughter of the late Fred J. and Helen (Malizia) Persechino. She was a 1968 graduate of Camden Catholic High School. She resided in Bloomsburg for 22 years and formerly lived in Pennsauken, New Jersey.

Laura was employed as a cook in a pizza shop in New Jersey.

She was a member of St, Peter’s Catholic Church in Merchantville, New Jersey.

Laura was a volunteer at Agape and at CMSU in Bloomsburg.

She is survived by three children: Paula Abate, Ocononowoc, Wisconsin, Daniel L. Abate of Catawissa, Anthony L. Abate of Medford, New Jersey; seven grandchildren; one great grandson; three brothers: Angelo Persechino of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, Fred Persechino and his wife Mary of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, Thomas Persechino and his wife Lois of Cherry Hill, New Jersey and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held in New Jersey at a later time.
