Laura Doris (Palmer) Brassington-Coleman, age 85, 776 Ringtown Mountain Road, Catawissa, and formerly of Almedia, died at 6:235 p. m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Health Care Center, Bloomsburg, several hours after she was admitted. She was in failing health since January.

Born at Jonestown, Fishingcreek Township, on April 10, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Howard W. and Ethel L. (Wright) Palmer. She resided at her present address since January with her daughter Nancy and the support of Columbia Montour Hospice and in  Almedia prior to that.

Doris was employed in the garment industry much of her life at the former Dockey Shirt Factory, Benton; Emenee Shirt Factory, Catawissa; and the Ashland Shirt Co., Ashland. She also worked at the former Howard Johnson Restaurant, Danville.

She was a hard working and caring woman that gave unwavering and unconditional love and support to her family. She enjoyed watching wrestling, baseball, cowboy movies;  listening to country and christian music; baking and cooking. Spending quality time with her grandchildren was important to her and she also enjoyed listening to her family's musical talents.

Doris was preceded in death by two husbands: Robert M. Brassington on Sept. 3, 1980 and Luther D. Coleman on Nov. 20, 2011; three brothers: Harry Palmer, Howard Palmer and Carl Palmer; and by five sisters: Freda McHenry, Virginia Kocher, Betty Smith, Janet Palmer and Thelma Palmer.

Surviving are a daughter, Nancy M., wife of James E. Yost, with whom she resided; two sons: Edgar "Bill" Palmer, and his wife Betty, McAdoo and Edward Brassington, and his wife Cindy, Catawissa; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with Pastor John  D.,Kolenda, pastor of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, Bloomsburg, officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. Viewing on Wednesday from 1-2 p. m.
