Laura (Barnes) Moore

Laura (Barnes) Moore, age 80, of 104 Buckhorn Rd., Bloomsburg, died early Monday morning at The Gardens At Orangeville, where she had been a patient.

Born in Bloomsburg on December 15, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Isaiah and Martha Jane (Fisher) Barnes. She was a lifelong resident of the Bloomsburg area and a 1959 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.

Laura was employed at the former Magee Carpet Co. for a number of years and was last employed as a rural mail carrier, working out of the Bloomsburg Post Office for 20 years before retiring.

She was an avid wrestling fan.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald B. Moore, on April 19, 2015; four brothers: Carvel Barnes, John Barnes, Morris T. “Shorty” Barnes, and Andrew G. Barnes, Sr.; and a sister, Betty E. Eveland.

Surviving are three sons: Shane B. Moore, and his wife Kelly, of Buckhorn, Chad B. Moore, and his wife Lisa, of Corning, NY, and Jace B. Moore, and his wife Gail, of Buckhorn; six grandchildren: Pete, Livia, Ben, Ty, Cole, and Jett; and two brothers, William A. Barnes, and his wife Sandra, and David M. Barnes, and his wife Deborah, all of Bloomsburg.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Margie M. McCarty, pastor of the Buckhorn United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Bloomsburg Senior Center, 229 West 6th St., Bloomsburg, PA 17815.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
