Lavoune F. "Vaughn" Millar, age 59, 2398 Snydertown Road, Danville, died at his home on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 and was pronounced dead at 10:45 p. m. He was in failing health for six years.

Born in Danville on March 28, 1950, he was a son of the late Kenneth W. and Bonita (Gerst) Millar. He resided in Rush Township, Northumberland County for 23 years and previously lived in Riverside.

Vaughn was a 1968 graduate of Danville Area High School.

He was employed as a chemical operator by the Merck, Co. at their Cherokee Plant in Riverside for over 25 years, retiring due to ill health in 2008.

He was a member of the Bloomsburg Southern Baptist Church; the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the Keystone Gun Club at Stonington.

Vaughn was an avid hunter, whose hobby was carving walking sticks. He was also a sports fan who followed the Penn State football team; the Pittsburgh Steelers; and Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, the former Patricia A. Carl, with whom he celebrated his 40th wedding anniversary on July 19, 2009; a son, Robert L. Millar, and his wife Shelby, Riverside; a daughter, Melissa K., wife of Gary A. Berge, Selinsgrove; four grandchildren: Jordan Campbell, Bryan Millar, Michael Berge, and Briana Berge; two brothers: Kenneth A. Millar, and his wife Judy and Ronald J. Millar, both of Danville; two sisters: Cheryl E., wife of Larry Pricher, Williamsport and Doris "Dori", wife of Stephen Eck, Cogan Station.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:30 p. m. in the Bloomsburg Southern Baptist Church, 108 Welliver Drive, Bloomsburg, with his former pastor, Rev. Keith McGann officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.

Friends may call today (Thursday) from 6-8 p. m. at the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville or at the Church Friday after 1:30 p. m.

The family will provide flowers. Memorials may be sent to the Child Evangelism Fellowship, 2325 Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
