Lawrence A. âLarryâ Hacker, age 67, 104 Mountainside Drive, Berwick, died at 4:10 a. m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was a patient for two days.
Born in Berwick on January 26, 1946, he was a son of the late Francis and Mabel (Remaley) Hacker. He resided at his present address in Brookside Village since 1979 and spent his earlier life in Berwick.
Larry was employed at the former Dana, Corp. plant in Berwick for 26 years and last at their Pottstown plant for 4 years, retiring in 2004.
He was a member of the American Ukrainian Citizens (Old Mans) Club, the Slavonic Club and the VFW, all of Berwick.
Larry was an avid fisherman, last fishing on Sunday.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Shirley A. Riffindifil, on Nov. 5, 2009 and by a sister, Gladys Wolfe.
Larry is survived by two sons: Tracy L. Hacker, and his wife Tracie, Berwick and Tory L. Hacker, and his wife Barbara, Mifflinville; four grandchildren: Brittany, Zachery, Katie and Mitchell; two sisters: Alma Heber, Berwick and Melva Matlack, Trenton, NJ; and his fianceâ, Sharon Chamberlain, who resided with him.
Friends may call on Monday from 4-6 p. m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
