Leah E. Michael

Leah H. Michael, age 95, 10745 Sleepy Brook Way, Boca Raton, Fla., died at her home and was pronounced dead at 9 a. m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010. She had been seriously ill since March.

Born in Beaver Township on June 10, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Mabel (Michael) Gottstein. She resided in Mainville from 1935 until September, 2008 when she moved to Florida.

Leah was a member of the former St. John's United Church of Christ, Catawissa and attended the Mainville Sunday School.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Arnold W. Michael, on May 29, 2004; by a daughter, Janice E. Price on August 15, 1973; by a grandson, Jeffrey A. Price on June 7, 2000; and by eight siblings.

Surviving are a daughter, Beverly Riegel, Boca Raton, Fla.; five grandchildren: Nancy Riegel and Jill Riegel, with sho she last resided; Amy, wife of Ed Cover, Elizabethtown; Tim Riegel and Mark A. Price, both of Bloomsburg; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Thomas J. Fetterolf, pastor of Emanuel's Reformed Church, Mainville officiating. Interment in Emanuel Reformed Cemetery, Main Township. Friends may call on Saturday from 10-11 a.m.
