Leona M. Hess

Leona M. Hess, age 76, formerly of Lightstreet Road, Bloomsburg, died at 7:55 a. m. Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Orangeville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Orangeville, where she resided for 35 years.

Born in Bloomsburg on April 29, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Carlton C. Hess and the late Helen M. (Runyan) Hess Fedder. She spent her entire life in Bloomsburg prior to entering the nursing home.

Leona is survived by a son, Curtis D. "Whitey" Hess, and his wife Penny; a granddaughter, Deanna E. Hess; a grandson, Devin C. Hess; and a brother, Richard C. Hess, all of Bloomsburg.

The family would to thank the staff of the Orangeville Nurisng & Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate and loving care they provided to Leona over the years. You became her family and  loved all of you.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 4 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Allen F. Acor, retired United Methodist Minister officiating. Interment will be made at the convenience of the family in Dodson Cemetery, Huntington Township, Luzerne County. The family will receive friends from 3:30 p. m. until the time of the services.
