LILLIAN E. "BETTY" LOVE
Lillian E. "Betty" Love, age 73, 2350 Bloom Road, Danville, died at her home on Saturday, May 19, 2012 after an illness of five years.
Born in Baltimore, Md. on October 8, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Melvin Hughes Seifert and Ruby Ware (Mawyer) Seifert. She resided in the Danville area since 1957.
Betty was a 1956 graduate of Margaret Brent High School, Helen, Md.
She was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Division of Professional & Occupational Affairs, Law Enforecement Office for 28 years, retiring in 1999.
Betty was a member of the Bloomsburg Christian Church and the Frosty Valley Country Club, Danville., where she was a former president of the Ladies Golf Association. She was also a member of the Pennsylvania State Womens Golf Association, serving on the board for seven years as a director and treasurer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Love on Feb. 12, 2008 and by a half-brother, Lloyd Seifert.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Laura L., wife of James Donovan, Doylestown; three sons: Michael R. Long, and his wife Jennifer, Danville; Russell A. Long, Berwick; Jeffrey S. George, and his wife Denise, Parry Sound, Canada; 11 grandchildren; a half-brother, Wayne Seifert, and his wife Iola, Delmar, Md.; and two sisters: Faye Seifert, Bowie, Md. and Ann Ashley, Sunbury.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 3 p. m. in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville, with Pastor George H. Johns, Jr., of her Church officiating. Interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 p. m.
