Linda (Lopez) Corteza

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda (Lopez) Corteza, age 80, of Bloomsburg, beloved and remarkable mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who departed this life on April 12, 2025.

Born in Iloilo City, Philippines, on March 17, 1945, she was the eldest daughter, born to the late German and Pacita (Jacomb) Lopez. Linda was a graduate of Assumption College with a degree in Language Arts/Liberal Arts.

Linda was a woman of incredible strength, love for life through caring for others, and her warmth. She dedicated her life to her loved ones, always putting their needs as a priority, and nurturing them with unconditional love. Her energetic generosity, kind spirit, and infectious laughter could light up any room, and she had an admirable ability to make everyone feel special.

She is survived by her three children, Rose Siegel (wife of Rand), Dr. Belinda Badger (wife of Stephen), and Julio Corteza (fiancé of Emma Del Rosario). She adored her beloved grandchildren, Thomas, Jordan, and Micah. Her siblings include Bernadette (wife of Dr. Dennis Carbonnell), Socorro (wife of Dr. Romulo Genato), Antonio Lopez (husband to Sofie), and Jose Lopez (husband to Veronica). She also loved her many cherished nephews and nieces, Andre, Clarrissa, Rowena, Anne, Ashley, Ann, Ryan and was very lovingly connected to other family members and friends who will dearly miss her. She was a member of St. Columba Church.

Linda was known for her passion for animals, shopping, being a doting homemaker, traveling abroad, baking/cooking, and being a philanthropist to educational groups and to disadvantaged or medically fragile children. She most enjoyed learning about other cultures and spending time with family and loved ones. Her legacy will live on through the countless memories she created with those who were fortunate to know her.

A celebration of Linda's life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (https://www.stjude.org), 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in her name would honor her giving spirit. Her love remains in our hearts.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
