LINDA M. (HERRING) O'KANE

Linda M. (Herring) O'Kane, age 44, of 2319 Brookside Road, Bloomsburg died at 8:50 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 at Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia where she had been a patient for 5 days.

Born in Islip, NY on May 18, 1968 she was the daughter of Dorothy (Norman) Herring, Patchogue, NY and the late William Herring.

Linda resided in Bloomsburg area since 2002 and previously lived in Shirley, NY.  She graduated from East Islip High School in 1986.

Linda and her husband are co-owners of Brookside Pups & Stuff on Rte 11, Bloomsburg for the past 10 years.

Surviving in addition to her mother, are her husband Daniel O'Kane, Jr. with whom she celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary on May 29, eight children, Melissa O'Kane-Oberdorf and her husband Brandon, Bloomsburg; Sean O'Kane, Ryan R. O'Kane, Thomas J. O'Kane, Jessica L. O'Kane, Kathleen S. O'Kane,  Amylynn O'Kane and Cierra G. O'Kane all at home, two brothers; William Herring, Titusville, FL,; Steven Herring, Selden, NY and a sister Kim Schoberl and her husband Steven, Mt. Bethel, PA.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Allen F. Acor, pastor of the Mooresburg-Hendrickson United Methodist Churches, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 p.m.
