Lois V. Rupert

Lois V. Rupert, age 99, of Willow Street, Berwick, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024 after an illness.

Born in Mifflinville on Dec. 17, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mamie (Robinholt) Rupert. She was a graduate of the former North Centre School in 1941 and of Bloomsburg High School in 1943.

Lois was employed by the former Magee Carpet Co. from 1943 to 1975 and by Bloomsburg Carpet Co. from 1977 until she retired in 1999.

She was a member of the New Hope Church, Lime Ridge where she participated in the Card Crafters and was active in the Christian Women’s Society and helping with Church suppers and banquets.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four, brothers: William Rupert, James Rupert, Harold Rupert, and Floyd Rupert; a sister Elizabeth Roeder; two brothers-in-law: Daniel Ansbach and Eugene Roeder; two sisters-in-law: Beverly Rupert and Emily Rupert; and by a niece Linda Roeder.

Surviving is a daughter Bonnie wife of Thomas Yurcho of Nuremberg; three grandchildren: Gretchen Yunevage of Zion Grove, Kristie wife of Justin Schell of Zion Grove, Adam Yurcho and his wife Lisa of Nuremberg; six great-grandchildren: John Thomas Yunevage, Zane Yunevage, Trevor Schell, Gannon Schell, Zakk Yurcho and Ethan Yurcho; a sister and caregiver, Joyce Ansbach, with whom she resided in Berwick, a brother, LaRue (Pappy) Rupert of Bloomsburg, a sister-in-law, Joanne Rupert of Watsontown and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024, at 11 a. m. in New Hope Church, 6405 Fourth Street, Bloomsburg (Lime Ridge) with her pastor Rev. Vince Kiester officiating. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.

Viewing will be on Tuesday from 6-8 p. m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg or at the Church on Wed. from 10-11 a. m.
