Lois J. Stackhouse, age 90, 246 W. Eighth Street, Bloomsburg, died at 5 p. m. Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital where she was admitted on Monday. She resided at the Bonham Nursing Center, Stillwater for the past four months.
She was born in Berwick on December 12, 1924, a daughter of the late Collins and Marjorie May (Hartzel) Doty.
Lois was a 1942 graduate of Benton High School and moved from Stillwater to Bloomsburg shortly after graduation.
She was employed at the former Aquality Products Co., Bloomsburg, for 17 years, retiring in 1986.
Lois was a member of the Fowlersville United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed playing cards and especially the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Grant M. Stackhouse, on November 5, 1999 and by a brother, Collins Doty, Jr., and a sister, Audrey Doty.
Surviving are two daughters: Karen L. Ash and Lois E., wife of Kenneth E. Reibsome, all of Bloomsburg; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter,; and two sisters: Dorothy Hupkowicz, Buffalo, New York and Evelyn Lunger, New Oxford.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. R. Edward Cope officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. Friends may call on Saturday from noon to 1 p. m.
