LOREN A. STEWARD, JR.
Loren A. Steward, Jr., age 61, 83 Coleman Development Road, Bloomsburg, died on Monday, November 28, 2011 while hunting in North Centre Township.
Born in Bloomsburg on May 14, 1950, he was a son of the late Loren S. Steward and the late Betty E. (Rockwell) Steward Kressler. He resided in North Centre Township for the past 38 years.
Loren was a 1968 graduate of Central Columbia High School.
He served with the US Army in Vietnam during the Vietnam War.
He was employed by C & I Boiler Repairs in Montoursville for the past two years and prior to that he was employed by Berwick Offray, Inc., for 26 years.
Loren was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed doing Sudoku puzzles and assembling jigsaw puzzles. His special interest was micro sprint racing.
He was preceded in death by his step-father Albert E. Kressler on Feb. 7, 2009 and a step-sister, Linda S. Fester on January 22, 2010.
Surviving is his wife, the former Patti M. Travelpiece, with whom he celebrated his 38th wedding anniversary on January 13, 2011; three children: Loren A. Steward, III, and his wife Josie, Berwick; Terri M. Steward, at home; Greg B. Steward, Berwick; a granddaughter, Taylor M. DiFebo, at home; a grandson, Wyatt A. Steward, Berwick; two step grandsons: Seth Mensinger and Zachariah Mensinger, both of Berwick; a brother, Harold E. Steward, and his wife Judy, Berwick; two step-brothers: Kenneth E. Kressler, and his wife Denise and Albert E. Kressler, Jr., and his wife Judy, both of Bloomsburg; two step-sisters: Joan, wife of William Underwood, Millville and Barbara, wife of Ed Doebler, Linden.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Byron K. Krapf, interim pastor of Calvary United Methodist Church, Berwick, officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 7-9 p. m.
