M.  LORRAINE  DAVENPORT

M. Lorraine Davenport, age 84, 450 Waller Avenue, Bloomsburg, died at 12:49 p. m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2012 at Balance Care At Bloomsburg, a health care facility in Scott Township. She was a guest there since Nov. 28, 2011 and in failing health for six months.

She was born in Philadelphia on April 19, 1927 and resided in the Bloomsburg area for over 60 years.

Lorraine was last employed by the Green Thumb Program at Bloomsburg University. Earlier she was employed by the former Magee Carpet Co., Bloomsburg Mills, Inc. and the Sutter Corp., in Berwick.

She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Bloomsburg.

Lorraine enjoyed chrocheting, knitting, reading and doing word find puzzles.

Surviving are her husband, Francis L. "Bud" Davenport, with whom she celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Sept. 7, 2011; three children: Virginia L., wife of Donald F. Yoder, Bloomsburg; W. Robert Davenport, Dundee, N.Y.; Diane M., wife of David Adele, Blue Rock, Ohio; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Marjorie A. Menaul officiating. Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Catawissa. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p. m.
