M. Madeline (Cousins) Foshay, age 78, 11 Penn- Brook Drive, Bloomsburg, died on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Grandview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Danville, PA where she was patient.
Born on August 20, 1943 in Fairmont, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Guy S. and Hazel A. (Parker) Cousins. She resided in Fairview, West, Virginia until 1955 when she moved to Spring Valley, New York and later to Pomona, New York. In 1978, she and her husband moved to Millville and in 2004 they moved to Buckhorn.
She was a graduate of Spring Valley Senior High School, Spring Valley, New York, in addition to graduating with a diploma in General Accounting from International Correspondence Schools, Scranton, PA. In 1976, Foshay received an A. S. degree in Accounting from SUNY Empire State College and in 1996, a B. S. degree in Business, Management, & Economics from SUNY Empire State College.
Upon graduation from High School in 1961, Foshay was employed as a bookkeeper at the former William S. Doig, Inc., Haverstraw, New York. In 1964 she began employment as an Account Clerk at New York State Department of Mental Hygiene, Letchworth Village, Thiells, New York and retired as Principal Account Clerk in 1978 prior to moving to Millville. From 1978-79, Foshay was employed as an Office Clerk at the former DataCom, Inc. in Lime Ridge. From 1979 until retirement in 2003, she was employed at Bloomsburg University, retiring as an Account Specialist.
Madeline was preceded in death by her husband Louis Peyer Foshay, on September 17, 2017. They were married on August 26, 1961 at the Central Presbyterian Church, Haverstraw, New York. She was the last of her immediate family.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 1 p. m. in the Benefield Cemetery, Pumpkin Center, Fairview, West Virginia with Rev. Robert Leedy.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
