Margaret D. Lemons

Margaret (Bowman) Lemons, age 98, 207 Stoney Brook Road, Orangeville, died at her home at 7:10 a. m. Sunday, June 2, 2019 after an illness.

Born in Mount Pleasant Township on February 16, 1921, she was a daughter of Henry and Melva (Hippensteel) Bowman. She resided in the Bloomsburg-Orangeville her entire life and was a 1939 graduate of the former Orangeville High School.

Margaret was a member of the Ebenezer Faith Bible Church  and was active in Church activities for many years. She also belonged to the Gideon Society Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family at the many picnics they had.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl O. Lemons on March 28,  2014; by a son, Richard E. Lemons on August  4 , 1990; by a daughter, Nancy R. Davis on  November 1, 1994; two sisters: Helen Albeck and Phyllis Pugh; and by five brothers: E. Dean Bowman, Doyle E. Bowman, Glen H. Bowman, John R. Bowman and Carroll B. Bowman.

She is survived by a daughter, Gloria A. Buffone and a son, Robert J. Lemons, both of Orangeville; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce A. Curfman, Orangeville and  many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM, in the Light street “Highland” Cemetery. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon Society, P. O. Box 165, Bloomsburg, Pa 17815
