Margaret  L.  Mowery


Margaret L. Mowery, age 71, 1121 State Route 239, Shickshinny (Huntington Mills), died at her home at 12:03 a. m. Friday, July 24, 2015, after an illness of six months.

Born in Huntington Township, Luzerne County on August 3, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Elmer R. and Ora Mary (Hartzel) Ridall. She resided in Huntington Mills since 1969 and was a 1961 graduate of Northwest Area School District.

Margaret was employed by the Northwest Area School District for 27 years, where she served on the custodial staff, until retiring in 2008.

She was a member of the Town Hill United Methodist Church. An avid word search puzzle solver, she rooted for the Atlanta Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies baseball teams.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jeffrey William Mowery on August 10, 1990 and a brother, Walter E, Ridall on September 4, 2010.

Surviving is her husband, William D. Mowery, with whom she celebrated her 52nd wedding anniversary on July 12, 2015; a daughter, Jill M. Shields, Shickshinny; a son, Craig R. Mowery, and his wife Manda, Berwick; a granddaughter, Reba Shields, Shickshinny. She was the last of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Benton, with her pastor, Rev. Bethany P. Wood officiating. Interment will be made in Scott Cemetery, Waterton. Friends may call on Sunday from 6-8 p.m.
