Margaret E. Pooley, age 89, 117 Buckhorn Road, Bloomsburg, died early Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the Berwick Retirement Village II. She was seriously ill since June.
Born in Bloomsburg on February 2, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Charles F. and Mary (Ohl) Crim. She spent most of her life in the Hemlock Township/Buckhorn area.
Margaret was a devoted to her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and baker and will be remembered for her delicious ginger snaps.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Pooley on January 11, 2009; by a grandson, Charles Conner and by a brother, Charles Crim.
Surviving are two daughters: Margaret E., wife of Edwin H. Livsey, Berwick and Anne E. Conner, Edison, N.J.; a son, David H. Pooley, and his wife Ann, Binghamton, N.Y.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Ronald G. Hoffman, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Berwick, officiating. Interment in Columbia Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 7-9 p. m.
The family will provide flowers. Memorials may be sent to the Berwick Hospital Home Health & Hospice, 120 E. Third St., Berwick, PA 18603.
