Margarette M. Tanner, age 63, 203 E. Mahoning St., Danville, died at 2:32 p. m. Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the Geisinger-Bloomsburg Health Care Center, Bloomsburg, where she was a patient for one month.
Born in Bloomsburg on November 13, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Virgil and Mary (McBryan) Burns.
She resided in Danville for much of her lifetime.
Margarette was employed in the Dietary Department at Maria Joseph Manor, Danville, for 24 years until retiring in 2013. She loved to knit, read, walk and restore old photographs.
Surviving are her companion, Robert James, with whom she resided; three children: Michelle Tanner, and her companion, Fernando Vasquez, Washington, DC; Brad Tanner, and his wife Tiffany, Danville; Chad Tanner, and his wife Heather, Watsontown; and two biological children who were adopted out; Christina Rohland and Patrick Rosini, both of Danville; two grandchildren: Cecelia Long and Logan Tanner; four brothers: Albert Burns, and his wife Joy, Wellsboro; Robert Burns, and his wife Patsy, Danville; Francis Burns, Scranton; Edward Burns, and his wife Shirley, Bloomsburg; five sisters: Theresa, wife of Paul Price, Bloomsburg; Alice, wife of Harvey Buriak, Danville; Maryann Levan, Orangeville; Josephine, wife of Albert Wilson, Stillwater; Loretta, wife of Terry Yarger, New Columbia; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Burns in 1991 and by a sister, Catherine Burns in 1970.
Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Saturday from 1-3 p. m. at the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville.
