Marian L. Myers, age 87, 230 Leonard Street, Bloomsburg, died at 7:50 p. m. Wednesday, October 13, 2009 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient for one week. She had been in failing health for several years.
Born on March 9, 1922 in Bloomsburg, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Margaret (Schmeck) Bisset. She was a 1940 graduate of the former Scott Township High School.
Marian was employed by Milco Industries, Inc., Bloomsburg for over 20 years, retiring about 1963.
She was a faithful charter member of Shiloh Bible Church, Almedia, where she participated in making patterns and quilts for her Church to send to orphans in Russia.
Marian was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Millville American Legion Post and of the Ladies Auxiliary of Ft. McClure Post 804, VFW.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, working puzzle books, Chihuahua's, and playing the organ. She made potholders which she sold from her front porch during the annual Bloomsburg Fair and gave many to her family and friends. She will be sadly missed till one day we all meet in heaven in day. We all love you, mom.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. Myers, Jr.; two brothers: Larry Bisset and Charles Bisset; and a sister, Dorothy Robbins Bisset.
Surviving are five children: Maryellen, wife of Neil Poust; Joseph A. Myers, and his wife Laura K., all of Bloomsburg; Eileen R., wife of John D. Erwine, Berwick; Sandra K. Schwab, at home; Daniel A. Myers, and his wife Janice M., Catawissa; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Glen Bisset, and his wife Gail, Denton, Tex. and Wallace Bisset, and his wife Loretta, Crowley, Tex. And by her beloved cats, Millie, Lulu and Hobbs.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p. m. in Shiloh Bible Church, 120 Church Street, Bloomsburg (Almedia) with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Douglas H. Lyon and friend Charles W. Dyer officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
Friends may call at the Church on Monday from 1-2 p. m. The family will provide flowers. Memorials may be sent to the disabled veterans at Orangeville Manor, P. O. Box 157, Orangeville, PA 17859.
