Marion Rose Knouse
Marion Rose Knouse, age 74, formerly of Danville, died at 7:48 a. m. Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Berwick Retirement Village II.
Born in Beaver Springs on January 27, 1939, she was the youngest of twelve children born to the late Harry and Carrie L. (May) Knouse.
Marion was a 1957 graduate of Middleburg High School.
She was of the protestant faith and enjoyed volunteering in the gift shop at the Williamsport Hospital, where she interacted with the patients and families. She also was a member of the Williamsport Moose where she helped to coordinate special activities. Marion enjoyed Christmas and often dressed as Mrs. Claus during the holiday season.
Marion lived in Pennsylvania her entire life and was an entepreneur, working as a beautician, home health aide, entertainer and co-owner and bartender at the D & W Cafe, Glen Iron.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers: Earl, George, Harry, Richard, Marlin, William and Ronald Knouse; and by two sisters: Patsy Knouse and Arvilla Thompson.
Surviving is a daughter, Pamela Benner-Diehl, Nescopeck; a son, Dwayne Benner, Portland, NY; two granddaughters: Carrie Charles, Benton and Crissy Camp, Highlands, NJ; two grandsons: Adam Benner, Stafford, VA and Jason Benner, Buffalo, NY; three great-grandchildren: Maddie and Carlee Charles, Benton and Rihanna Benner, Dunkirk, NY; and two sisters: Mary Jane Miller, Silver Spring, MD and Ursula Knouse, Fredonia, NY.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday at 11 a. m. in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville, with Pastor Michael Bayly from First Baptist Church of Danville officiating.
