Marjorie Ann (Eck) Kriner, age 96, formerly of Bloomsburg, and most recently a resident of Titusville, passed away on Friday January 3, 2025 at the Titusville Area Hospital after being in declining health.
Born in Williamsport, on November 2, 1928 she was a daughter of the late Charles H. and Agnes M. (Albert) Eck. She was a graduate of Saint Mary’s Catholic School, Williamsport.
Marge was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church in Bloomsburg.
She worked for 25 years as a medical secretary in Bloomsburg and volunteered in many capacities throughout the years but in most recent years for the Bloomsburg Food Pantry.
Marge enjoyed being a fan of Penn State and Notre Dame football, attending many games with Ed and friends in their younger years. She also enjoyed knitting, reading, never missing a night of wheel of fortune or Jeopardy, socializing with friends and visiting family. A devote Catholic, Marge spent much of her mornings and evenings praying her many prayers of devotion or for those in need.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her husband of 59 years Edward E. Kriner who passed away January 9, 2013 and her two daughters, Marianne Coratello and Cynthia Blackman.
Surviving is her son Stephen E. Kriner, wife Gail of Titusville; three granddaughters; Ellie Kriner of New Orleans Louisianna, Carly Northcott, husband Ryan, of Carlton, Michelle Blackman, a great granddaughter Berkley Northcott whom she adored, her last surviving sibling Elaine Dunne of McHenry, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.
Marge was especially grateful for her caregiver Jamie.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron St, Bloomsburg on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at, 11:00 am by her pastor, Rev. Richard J. Mowery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10-11 am. Interment will follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. A luncheon will follow in the cafeteria of St. Columba School.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St, Bloomsburg.
