Marlene J. Schlauch, age 87, of Orangeville and formerly Zion Grove, passed away on Tuesday April 30, 2024 at The Gardens At Orangeville, where she had resided.
Born on September 13, 1936 in Beaver Township, Columbia County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Edna J. (Rupert) Markunas. She was a 1954 graduate of Beaver Township High School and a resident of Zion Grove for most of her life.
Marlene was last employed by the former Bloomsburg Silk Mill. Earlier, she was employed by the Bell Telephone Company of Philadelphia.
She was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church.
Marlene enjoyed gardening, making ceramics, oil painting, and cooking. She also loved flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Carl D. Schlauch, on May 1, 2007; and by a brother, Melvin J. Markunas.
Surviving is her daughter, Deborah E. Snyder; two grandchildren: Charissa Snyder and Matthew Snyder, and his wife Ashley; and four great grandchildren: Dekota Carl Snyder, Mason Arthur Snyder, Ariyonna Eileen Nieves, and Savannah Grace Snyder, all of Stillwater.
At Marlene’s request, there will be no services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
