Mary L. Brown, age 82, 602 E. Fourth Street, Bloomsburg, died at 9:10 a. m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient for 10 days. Her death followed a brief illness.
Born in Susquehanna Township, Juanita County, on March 9, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Henry M. and Agnes I. (Stroup) Keisling.
Mary resided in Bloomsburg for 15 years and previously lived in Mt. Pleasant Mills for 50 years.
She was employed as a dietary supervisor, last working at the Nipple Convalescent Home, Liverpool, for nine years and prior to that at the Snyder Convalescent Home, Liverpool, for 20 years.
Mary was a member of the Shiloh Bible Church, Almedia. She enjoyed attending the Bloomsburg Senior Center, where she participated in many activities. She especially enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader. A talented vocalist, she enjoyed singing at churches and the senior center, as well as other gatherings.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a sister, Florence Goodling; and two brothers: Donald Keisling and Henry Keisling.
Mary is survived by a son, Ronald Brown, and his wife Cheryl, Leander, Texas; two daughters: Rosalee âRoseâ Brown, and her husband Ron Schutt and Teresa, wife of David Spiwak, both of Bloomsburg; three grandchildren: Jason Brown, Lindsay OâConnor, Jenna-Wade Hougue; three great-grandchildren: Laela Brown, Jane OâConnor, Gabriel Hougue; a sister, Daisy Mae Travitz, Harrisburg; and a brother, Winston Keisling, and his wife Linda, Liverpool.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12 noon in the Shiloh Bible Church, 123 Church Street (Almedia) Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Douglas H. Lyon officiating. Interment in Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Monroe Township, Juanita County.
Friends may call at the Church from 11 -12 noon.
