Mary Jane (Watts) Derr, age 81, 278 Mainville Drive, Bloomsburg, died at 4:15 a. m. Saturday, May 26, 2018, at The Gardens of Orangeville in Orangeville where she was a patient.
Born in Millville on May 13, 1937, she was a daughter of the late C. Edgar and Mabel (Bartlow) Watts. She was a 1956 graduate of Millville High School.
Mary Jane married Jay E. Derr in 1958 and moved to Mainville, where she helped him at his garage, pumping gas, driving the wrecker, picking up parts; in other words she was a great partner to Jay with his business.
Later she was employed at the former Textron plant in Danville where she worked for many years. She also operated her own Notary Public business.
Mary Jane was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church, Mainville, where she volunteered for many church activities, especially helping with dinners. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, initially with the former Catawese Chapter in Catawissa, and currently with the Bloomsburg Chapter 179.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Bonnie Sue in 1960.
Surviving are her husband, Jay E. Derr and a daughter, Diane Derr, at home; two brothers: Harry E. Watts, and his wife Milly, Millville and Wayne E. Watts, and his wife Harriet, Hughesville; a sister, Lois W. Artman, Millville; and several nieces and nephews.
Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Elan Memorial park, Lime Ridge. There will be no viewing.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg.
