Mary C. (Sands) Linn, age 89, 147 Sunken Heights Ave., Bloomsburg, died at 6:15 a. m. Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Columbia-Montour Hospice At Maria Hall, Danville, where she was a guest for four months.
Born on May 22, 1923 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Myron Sands and Pauline (Welliver) Sands Shuman. She was a lifelong resident of Bloomsburg and a 1941 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.
Mary was employed by the former Bell Telephone Co. as an operator early in her life.
She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomsburg, for 77 years. Mary also belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and was a former member of the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary; Frosty Valley Country Club, Danville; and the former Bloomsburg Country Club.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert A. Linn on May 29, 2006 and by a brother Thomas Charles Sands in 2001.
Mary is survived by her two sons: Robert A. Linn, II and Richard M. Linn, both of Bloomsburg.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with her pastor, Rev. Dr. Gary D. Weaver officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy. There will be no viewing.
