Mary A. (Trump) Mumaw
Mary A. (Trump) Mumaw, age 84, 100 Putnam St., West Hazleton, died at the home of her son, Mark Mumaw, in Hazleton at 10:44 p.m., Saturday, December 29, 2012. She was seriously ill for six weeks..
Born in Bloomsburg on May 16, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Agnes (Taylor) Trump. She resided in West Hazleton since 1947.
Mary was a 1946 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and also graduated from the Empire School of Cosmetology, Hazleton. She was a licensed beautician, working in various beauty shops in Hazleton during her career and also worked in the garment industry.
A longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church, Hazleton, she also belonged to the International Ladies Garment Workers Union local in Hazleton.
Mary was an avid gardner, who enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, knitting and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin R. Mumaw on Jan. 4, 1973; by two sisters: Bette Gilbert and Anna Mae Waters; four brothers: Jacob Trump, George Trump, Ralph Trump and William Trump; and her companion, Frank Slack, who died on Dec. 3, 2012.
Surviving are four children: Doreen, wife of Rev. James A. Walther, Jr., Pinch, West Va.; Michael Mumaw, Hazleton; Denise, wife of David Chupela, Tomhicken; Mark Mumaw, and his companion Rose Harkins, Hazleton; eight grandchildren: William and Brad Barratt; Amanda, wife of Steven Naulty; Eric and Ryan Mumaw; Cody Harkins; Richard and Hayley Blumer; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Frederick T. Trump, Bloomsburg and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with her son in law, Rev. James A. Walther, Jr., pastor of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Pinch, West Va. officiating. Interment in Mountain View Cemetery, West Hazleton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-2 p. m.
