MARY  R.  (WAYNE)  SNYDER

Mary R. (Wayne) Snyder, age 90, 1102 Bloom Street, Danville, died at 6:23 p. m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at the Geisinger Medical Center, where she was a patient for three days.

Born in Bloomsburg on July 27, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Walter B. and Margaret (Kisner) Wayne. She resided in Danville for over 40 years and previously resided at Grovania where she and her first husband, Eugene H. Cotner operated a family farm.

Mary was a 1938 graduate of Bloomsburg High School. She was employed in the office of the former Magee Carpet Co. prior to her marriage.

Upon her husbands death, she returned to the class room to refresh her office skills and was employed by Bloomsburg State College, the Danville State Hospital and lastly at Geisinger Medical Center in the medical records and admissions office's where she was employed until she retired.

Mary was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Grovania.

She was an avid reader and story teller of local history. She enjoyed completing puzzles and playing cards with friends. Embroidery was a favorite past-time for her.

Her first husband died in 1966 and she married William B. Snyder, who preceded her in  death in 2001. She was also preceded by a daughter, Mary Ann Cotner; a brother, Arthur Wayne, and a sister Carolyn Mears.

Surviving are a niece, grand-niece, and two grand-nephews. She was the last of her immediate family.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family, followed by interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville. There will be no viewing.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville.
