Mary Jane Witts

Mary Jane Witts, age 92, Danville, died at 8:15 a. m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Grand View Health & Rehabilitation Center, Danville. She had been a patient there and at the former Gold Star Nursing Home since 2006.

Born in Hemlock Township, Columbia County, on July 29, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Ellen T. (GIrton) Witts. She resided in Danville most of her life and was the foster child of the late Raymond and Mary Geringer.

She was employed by Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for a number of years in the housekeeping department.

Mary Jane was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Danville.

She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by four sisters and a brother, in addition to her parents.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a. m. in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Bloom Road, Danville, with her pastor, Rev. Trevor J. Hahn officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Bloom Road, Danville.
