Marybelle L. Welsh, age 79, 131 Main St., Catawissa, died at 5:55 p. m., Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she was a patient for two weeks.
Born in Philadelphia on Feb. 6, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Jack Alfred and Bonnie Mae (Overmeyer) Cathers. She resided in Catawissa for 25 years.
She was a 1950 graduate of Frankford High School, Philadelphia. Early in her life she was employed by the Frankford Trust Co., Philadelphia.
Marybelle enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren as well as doing crafts.
Surviving are three children: Linda A. Cernovsky, Bloomsburg; Richard J. Welsh, and his wife Theresa, Huntington Valley; Paula J., wife of Richard Jacobs, Benton; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four siblings: Vera Hesser and Hugh Cathers, Norristown; Anne Gunther, Danville; and Lila, wife of Frank Gramlich, Cinnaminson, N.J.
Memorial services will be held in February at a time and place to be announced.
There will be no calling hours or viewing.
