Maureen F. Brobst-Kindt, age 91, formerly of Bloomsburg, died at 3:51 p. m. Monday, July 29, 2019 at the Emmanuel Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation, Danville. She previously had been a guest at Maria Joseph Manor for five years.
Born on November 14, 1927 in Brisbane, Australia, she was a daughter of the late William F. and Florence (Currant) Carey. She resided in the Bloomsburg area most of her life.
Maureen was employed at the former Nichol's Store, Bloomsburg and the former J. C. Penney store on Main Street Bloomsburg as a clerk.
She was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church, Bloomsburg. She also volunteered at Maria Joseph Manor for many years.
Maureen was preceded in death by two husbands: Fred Brobst in 1984 and Bruce E. Kindt, Jr. on March 12, 2013.
She is survived by two sons: Thomas F. Brobst, and his wife Sandra, Bloomsburg and John M. Brobst, and his wife Irene, Okeechobee, Florida; four granddaughters: Lisa, wife of James Flick, Bloomsburg; Diane, wife of Scott Hargraves, Bloomsburg; Julie, wife of Rajiv Panikkar, Bloomsburg; Michele, wife of Brad Kunkle, Muncy; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a. m. in St. Columba Catholic Church,. 342 Iron Street, Bloomsburg by his pastor, Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence. Interment will follow in Straub's Cemetery, Valley Township, Montour County. The family will greet friends from 9 a. m. until the time of the Mass.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
