Michael J. Johnson, age 28, 17120 Thorntondale Court, Olney, Md. died at 9:10 p. m. Monday, August 13, 2012 in the emergency room of the Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, Del. Where he was taken following a motorcycle accident on Delaware route 1.
Born in Charlotte, N.C. on March 18, 1984, he was the son of Craig A. and JoAnn (Magill) Johnson, with whom he resided in Olney. Most of his life was spent in Maryland where he was a 2002 graduate of James Hubert Blake High School, Silver Spring, Md. and a 2006 graduate of Towson University, Towson, Md.
Michael was currently employed by Wells Fargo Bank as a facilitator.
He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Silver Springs and the Masonic Lodge in Baltimore, Md. In college, he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, whose members are known as Tekes.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, C. Harold Magill on May 3, 1985 and by his paternal grandparents, Warren I. Johnson on Sept. 7, 1988 and Maurita P. Johnson on Aug. 15, 2002, all of Bloomsburg.
Surviving in addition to his parents is a brother, Jeffrey A. Johnson, Baltimore, Md; his maternal grandmother, Jean Magill, Bloomsburg; his aunt, Betty, wife of James Kunkle, East Stroudsburg; two cousins: Lori Stewart, East Stroudsburg and Julie, wife of Ted Schnittel and their children: Hailey, Addison and Olivia, all of Nazareth and also by many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 123 N. Market St., Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Dr. Joel L. Zeiders officiating. Interment in New Rosemont Cemetery, Espy.
