Michael J. Metz
Michael J. Metz, age 55, 107 Distillery Hill Road, Benton, died at 11:40 a. m. Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was in failing health for the past year.
Born on May 24, 1960 at the U. S. Army Hospital in Landstuhl, Germany, he was a son of the late Joseph A. and Theodora A. "Teddy" (Okarma) Metz.
Michael was a 1978 graduate of Benton High School and attended Bloomsburg University, before graduating from Eastern University in the Philadelphia area.
He was employed as a social worker for an agency in the Philadelphia area before becoming disabled.
Michael was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne R. Metz, in 2014.
Michael is survived by a sister, Clara Reimard-Metz, Benton, a brother, Anthony J. "Tony" Metz, and his wife Patricia, Bridgeport, Conn. and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
