Michael P. Siats

Michael P. Siats, age 44, of Danville, died peacefully on Monday evening April 3, 2023 at the Geisinger Medical Center with his family by his side.

Born in Buffalo, NY on October 19, 1978 he was the son of the late Barbara A. (Szeluga) Chupcavich and Joseph D. Siats, of Catawissa. He was a 1996 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.

Michael was an active firefighter with the Continental Fire Company in Danville. He was also a member of the East End Fire Company in Danville.

He was a devoted family man and loved being a dad. He enjoyed kayaking, riding bikes, and taking walks with his son, Mikey. He was best known for his smile, joy, and laughter that he shared with all who were fortunate to know him. His love for firefighting was only surpassed by his love for family.

Surviving in addition to his father are stepmothers, Kate Siats, of Catawissa, and Cathy Siats, of Danville; his significant other of 18 years, Penny Lewis, of Danville; his son, Michael Joseph Siats, of Danville; two step-daughters, Brittany, spouse of Courtney Kipple, and Bryanna Kipple, all of Danville; two brothers, Joseph F. Siats, and his wife Christy, of CO, and Adam Siats, and his wife Sarah, of MD; two sisters, Michele, wife of Keith Davis, of Bloomsburg, and Christine, wife of Russell Heath, of Danville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday April 10, 2023 at 3 p.m. in the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1133 Bloom Rd., Danville, with the Danville Fire Department Chaplain officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m.
