MIRIAM R. FOLLMER
Miriam R. "Mimi" Follmer, age 88, 2105 (rear) Main St., Bloomsburg (Lightstreet), died at 4:35 p. m. Friday, November 26, 2010 at the Bloomsburg Health Care Center, where she was a patient for two weeks.
Born in Almedia, Scott Township on November 30, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Edgar F. and Margaret (Leighow) Shaffer. She resided in Lightstreet since 1940.
She was employed as a domestic by several families and businesses, including the late Dr. Fred W. Reese, the late Mr. & Mrs. Donald Faust, the late Mr. & Mrs. Robert Robbins, Gray's Moving and Storage and at the Lightstreet Hotel during the 1940's.
Mimi was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg and the Ladies Auxiliary of Valley of Bloomsburg Post 273, American Legion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer H. Follmer on April 20, 1976, by a brother, Edgar Frederick Shaffer on May 6, 1931 and by two sisters: Laura M. Kline on December 2, 1971 and Nancy Ruth Mattive on Feb. 17, 2007.
Surviving are a brother, Glenn F. Shaffer, and his wife Barbara, Bloomsburg; a sister, Grace E. Bogart, Orangeville (Stoney Brook Circle); and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wed. at 10:30 a. m. in St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9 St. Luke Way, Bloomsburg, with her pastor, Rev. Jeffrey G. Bohan officiating. Interment in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. Friends may call at the Church on Wed. from 9:30 to 10:30 a. m.
The family will provide flowers. Memorials may be sent to either St. Luke Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, Pa 17701 or a charity of the donors choice.
