Miriam M. Wegrzynowicz, age 83, 230 Middle Road, Catawissa, died at 10 p. m. Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the Bloomsburg Hopsital where she was a patient for two weeks.
Born in Kulpmont on August 1, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Anna (Shopinski) Maurer. She resided at her home in Cleveland Township since 1953.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Slabtown.
Miriam was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend, who was known for her kind heart and spirited personality and she warmly touched many hearts. Her family was the center of her life. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all. She was the type person that touched everyone's heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Wegrzynowicz on September 9, 1992; a son-in-law, George E. Boettner on January 26, 2004 and six siblings: Myrtle Bartnichak, Amelia Ervine, Catherine Leiby, Lawrence Else, Charles Else, Sr. and Ivy Helwig.
Surviving are three sons: William R. Wegrzynowicz, and his wife Linda, Elysburg; Ronald J. Wegrzynowicz, and his wife Edith and Dennis J. Wegrzynowicz, and his wife Kathleen, both of Catawissa; a daughter, Debbie, wife of Raymond "Jake" Campbell, at home; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Maurer, Wilmington, Del.; and a sister, Evelyn M. Kanigosky, Catawissa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a. m. in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Slabtown, with her pastor Rev. Thomas I. Manion as the Celebrant. Interment in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call this evening (Thursday) from 6-8 p. m. at the Dean W. Kriner, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg. Prayer services will be held at 7 p. m.
