Morris T. "Shorty" Barnes

Morris T. "Shorty" Barnes, age 73, formerly of Shickshinny, died at 11:03 a. m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the Berwick Restirement Village, Berwick, where he resided for the past year and a half.

Born in Bloomsburg on August 3, 1940, he was a son of the late Alfred I. and Martha (Fisher) Barnes. He attended the Bloomsburg Schools. He was a resident of the Shickshinny area since 1975.

Shorty was employed by the former 6 L's Tomato Co., Shickshinny;  Branch Motor Freight Co., and the Magee Carpet Co. , both of Bloomsburg.

He was a member of the Mocanaqua Sportsman's Club. In school he was active in sports and midget football. He was a cat lover.

Shorty was preceded in death by a sister, Betty E. Eveland and by two brothers: Carvel Barnes and John Barnes.

Surviving ar four siblings: Andrew Barnes, and his wife Geneva; Laura, wife of Ronald Moore; William A. Barnes, and his wife Sandra; David M. Barnes, and his wife Deborah, all of Bloomsburg. There are also a number of nieces and nephews surviving.

Priuvate services will be held at the convenience of the family.  

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg.
