Myra R. Golder
Myra R. Golder, age 105, 1103 S. Market St., Bloomsburg, died early Sunday, July 28, 2013 at her home and was pronounced dead at 2:15 a. m.
Born in Lairdsville on January 27, 1908, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Bessie (Houseknecht) Ritter.
Myra was a 1926 graduate of the former Hughesville High School and also attended the former Williamsport Commercial School. She resided in Bloomsburg since 1938.
She was employed as a secretary at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg, before being employed at the former Bloomsburg Bank-Columbia Trust Co. where worked for many years. She held a number of positions before becoming the secretary to the bank president, a position she held until retiring in 1975.
At the time of her death, Myra was the oldest resident of Bloomsburg and also the oldest member of Wesley United Methodist Church of which she was a member for 73 years.She was also a former member of the Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary and the Bloomsburg Civic Club.
Myra was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Frank J. Golder, on June 20, 2011; by a son-in-law, Frederick L. Baker and a sister, Helen Smith.
Surviving are a daughter, Anne G. Baker, who resided with her; a granddaughter, Cheryl A. Seiger, Middletown; a grandson, Frank J. Baker, and his wife Sandra, Harrisburg; three great-grandchildren: Alexandra Seiger, Hannah Baker and Cassandra Baker. She was the last of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Crematioon Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with Pastor Eileen M. Chapman officiating. Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 - 11 a. m.
