Nancy I. Magill, age 74, 90 Valley Drive, Berwick, died at 11:25 a. m. Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the Berwick Retirement Village I where she was a patient since October, 2010. Her death followed a lengthy illness.
Born in Plymouth Township, Luzerne County, on July 31, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Marcella (Shultz) Eberly.
Nancy resided in Brookside Village mobile home court for five years and formerly lived in Lime Ridge, South Centre Township.
She was last employed by the former Heinz Pet Products plant at Lime Ridge where she was employed for eight years, retiring in 1997 due to her health issues. Earlier she was employed at several garment factories in the area.
Nancy enjoyed time spent with her family, especially the grandchildren; her dog, Daisy Mae and watching the Philadelphia "Phillies" baseball team. She also was a supporter and fan of the late president, John F. Kennedy. Years ago she was involved with the auxiliary of the former Catawissa Lions Club.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, James H. Magill, Sr., on August 1, 2009; by two brothers: Derle Eberly and Donald Eberly; and a sister, Lois Eberly.
Surviving are three children: Vikki, wife of Jeff Breech, Catawissa; James H. Magill, Jr., and his wife Crystal, Etters; Jennifer, wife of Alan Kulp, Berwick; six grandchildren; a brother, James Eberly, Millville; and her special caregiver, who was like a daughter, Tracy.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 7 p. m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market Street, Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Allen F. Acor, pastor of the Mooresburg-Hendrickson United Methodist Churches officiating. Interment will be made privately. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-7 p. m.
