Nettie Amdurer, age 93, of Danville, died at 6:50 p. m. Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born on June 4, 1919 in New York City, a daughter of the late Abraham and Jennie (Radofsky) Amdurer. She resided in South Orange, New Jersey for 15 years before moving to Danville 12 years ago.
While living in South Orange, she was a member of Oheb Shalom Congregation and since moving to Danville she was a member of Congregation Beth-El, Sunbury.
She had many jobs and careers, including that of “Rosey the Riveter”. What brought her the most joy in work and life was the 60 years she spent on the administrative staff of Camp Monroe, Monroe, N.Y. where she held various positions including Girl Scout Counselor, and most recently Camp Mother and Grand Camp Mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hyman Amdurer.
Surviving are two sons: Arthur Amdurer, and his wife Krys, Airmont, N. Y. and Leonard Amdurer, and his wife Carolyn, Spring Valley, N.Y.; a daughter, Joan, wife of Nicholas Brabander, Danville; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on November 1, 2012. Interment was in New Montifore Cemetery, West Babylon, N.Y.
